Releasing What No Longer Serves You | guided visualization

As we understand more and more the natural rhythms of our body's energy system we're actually able to get so much more done.

When I work with private clients and students a common complaint is that they are "loosing their energy in the afternoon." And although we don't want huge dips of energy at anytime of day (because that shows an imbalance), our energy in the afternoon and very early evening does relax and "drop" just a bit as we're winding down our day - and this is natural - not something we're supposed to push ourselves through to do more.

I say this because I've also had clients who were exhausted and going to their doctors to see if they could take a pill for an "extra boost" of energy in the afternoon time. Specifically they said because "slowing down" was interfering with their work schedule.

But here's the thing, when we take something artificial to boost our energy, we end up tapping the energy of our adrenals - and draining them.

 

So how about a natural reset in the afternoon?

 

At about 3pm our energy begins to shift to get ready for the evening time. It's a time when we need to protect and support our adrenals.

This is when many people will up the caffein, sugar, or other substances to keep them going, but that just taps the energy of the adrenals more and depletes them.

 

The body is getting us ready to let go of the high energy of the day and prepare for a restful sleep. In Qigong to fortify our energy in the afternoon we practice quiescent (quiet and calming) meditation. This will reset the brain and body, as it begins to nourish what you've used up during your day.

Listen to and follow this guided visualization anytime, but especially in the afternoon when you need that healthy boost of support.

Enjoying this visualization as a regular practice between 3pm - 5pm, you'll find yourself less foggy headed and feeling more energized (naturally).

A gentle reminder...

When we hold onto experiences that no longer serve us. That no longer serve our highest health, abundance and creativity the focus that is given to these experiences drain our energy physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Over time the accumulation of these events in our lives, that we do not release, can cause us to loose vitality. 

We loose alignment to who we truly are and how much we have grown in our lifetime.

Posture, breath and intention are important aspects in all forms of energetic healing.

Sitting, standing or lying it is important that your spine is elongated.

This allows your diaphragm (muscle of breathing) to expand and your breath to move freely.

Your shoulders are relaxed, dropped and soften more and more as you allow your breath to move effortlessly in and out of your body.

If sitting in a chair, or on the floor, it's totally fine to have support against your back - as long as you can elongate your spine.

If lying down it may be helpful to have a pillow under your knees. The pillow will decrease pressure on your lower back and soften your abdomen. Allowing more efficient belly breathing.

It's always a great idea to have your journal close by, in case you desire to engage in writing of your experiences.

It is my wish to you that you will find ease of flow, great strength and conscious alignment in all areas of your life.


 

Transcript of Guided Meditation

"We cannot move forward in our lives and create the best part of ourselves if our energy is still held in the past. The purpose of this guided meditation is to create conscious change by releasing what no longer serves your highest well being.

Preparation:  Please sit in a chair, or cross legged on a cushion. Feel free to align your back against a wall. You may also lie down on your back with a pillow under your knees. If you find yourself falling asleep, and please do this meditation seated allow your spine to be elongated and aligned.

Your shoulders are dropping soft and relaxed. be aligned in your body. Be comfortable in your breath. Feel yourself connecting to your breath. Inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Inhaling through your nose. Exhaling softly easily through your mouth. releasing your neck, your shoulders. Inhaling through your nose and letting go of everything as you exhale through your mouth. See and feel yourself connecting with your entire being. Your physical body is relaxing. Your mind is letting go.

Feel warm water pouring over the top of your head. softening the muscles of your neck, your shoulders, your back. Warm soothing water pouring over your entire body flowing into the earth as it carries with it all tension from your body and from your mind Relaxing more deeply allowing your body to be filled with your breath.

It is daylight and you are now standing on the most beautiful beach of your dreams. The ocean is directly in front of you. The sand is so soft beneath your feet.

The weather is exactly the way you would love it to be. gaze at the magnificent ocean in front of you. The ocean waves rising and falling, flowing in and flowing out.

Feeling your body connecting with the ocean rising and falling. flowing in flowing out.

When you are ready ask yourself if there is anything you wish to release today.

Allow the experience you wish to release to stand directly in front of you on the beach.

I ask for the wisdom to be shown to you from this experience. What is it that you can learn from this? Take your time to listen. Observe without judgment.

When you are fully ready to release all that no longer serves your highest good from this experience. Moving forward and aligning with all that serves your highest good, your highest health and your highest well being. Allow the ocean waves to gently flow over the experience standing in front of you. Smell the salt water. Feel the spray of the ocean wave on your legs. Feel the water flowing gently, softly and safely over your feet. So pure is the salt water that it vibrates all the cells in your entire body with pure light.

As the ocean waves roll back, they heal and take with them everything about this experience that no longer serves your highest well being the highest well being of the situation. And the highest well being of all those involved.

Waves flowing in your cells vibrating with pure light, waves flowing out. Healing, releasing all that is needed for your perfect well being

When you are complete relax and gaze at the beautiful ocean in front of you feeling your feet in the soft sand.

Feel the warm radiance of the Sun filling every cell in your body with light.

As your body is filled with light, what does your inner wisdom wants to tell you at this time

knowing that you can return to this space whenever you choose. When you're ready, sit in the soft sand.

Slowly place your hands on your lower belly and focus your breath into your belly. Inhaling easily through your nose.

Exhaling softly and gently feeling grounded connected with your breath.

Knowing you can return to this space and this meditation whenever you choose.

Very slowly open your eyes returning to your presence, space and time.

As you remain relaxed, take a few moments to listen consciously to your body. body, your mind and spirit. Continue to breathe and be fully grounded in your body.
