What Is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state of focused awareness — similar to getting absorbed in a memory, a story, or a daydream.
You remain awake, aware, and fully in control.
In this calmer state, your mind becomes more open to shifting the patterns that keep you stressed, overwhelmed, or stuck.Â

What Hypnosis Isn’t
Before we go deeper, let’s clear something up — because hypnosis has a lot of myths attached to it.
It’s not what you see on stage shows.
There’s no “clucking like a chicken,” no doing anything embarrassing, and no losing control.
Stage hypnosis is entertainment.
Therapeutic hypnosis is nothing like that.
It’s not mind control, and it’s nothing like stage hypnosis. There are no tricks, no forced suggestions, and no acting.
Therapeutic hypnosis is calm, respectful, and collaborative. You may feel deeply relaxed, but you stay awake and aware. Hypnosis is a state of focused awareness—not sleep.
